How to apply to Optima's housing waiting list
Houses, apartments and maisonettes
Our waiting list was open from 1st May to 29th May 2009 and is now closed. Over 1,000 application forms were returned, far exceeding the number of properties available. This means that we are unlikely to re-open our waiting list for some time.
Sheltered accommodation (over 55s)
Our waiting list for sheltered housing accommodation is open. For more information see the Sheltered Housing section of this website. To apply, please fill in our application form or call us on 0121 687 3133 to request a form through the post. Before completing an application form, please read our leaflet Applying for a Home with Optima, which explains the application process in detail.
Alternative options
We do ask Birmingham City Council Housing Department to put forward applicants from their housing waiting list for half of all our empty homes. If you are interested in Optima properties it is a good idea for you to join the council’s list and to request Optima areas in your areas of choice on the application form. The council's codes for Optima areas are:
- Lee Bank East (including Five Ways) 257
- Lee Bank West 557
- Woodview Edgbaston Park and Benmore Edgbaston Park 518
- Edgbaston central 517
- Cleveland and Clydesdale Towers 276
