Sheltered Housing We have vacancies at our two sheltered housing schemes, Latimer Gardens and Chiswick House. You can live as independently as you like with the reassurance that help is always at hand through our scheme managers and a 24 hour emergency call system. We welcome applications from people aged 60 and over and will also consider applications from people aged over 55 who have a medical need who would benefit from living in sheltered housing. For more information, call 0121 687 3133. The waiting list for general needs homes for rent is closed. We were inundated by applications for housing when we opened our waiting list in July 2006. Unfortunately we have now had to close our waiting list as demand far outstrips supply. If you are looking for a home to rent, please visit Birmingham City Council’s finding a home section on their website. It has information about renting from the council and other social landlords as well as advice if you are homeless, an asylum seeker or refugee, have HIV or a chronic illness, or used to be a member of the armed services.

Housing Availability Most of our homes are in high rise or maisonette blocks, but we are also building some new low rise homes too. Allocations are made on a points basis - for instance you might get points if you currently live in overcrowded acommodation. Someone from our allocations team can talk to you about your current circumstances and explain the points system to you in greater detail. We actively encourage residents to get involved in all matters affecting their life on our estates. We are constantly striving to improve quality and value for money. Residents' groups are closely involved in planning and monitoring our housing management work and individuals can join our Housing Management Committee if they want to have a say in how services are improved in the future.
